FAQ

Q: What is BlueboardIT?

A: BlueboardIT is a web-based program that allows its members to upload documents, videos, image files, maps, and many other types of content to provide customized training to employees in their agency or organization.

Q: Who provides the training material?

A: The material you use for training can be transferred from existing references and files on any electronic format (computer files, CD's, DVD's, thumb drives, or the web), or you can generate new material from simple text pages to entire websites on our system. You are limited to your own creativity. Plus, our system allows you to exchange files and entire courses with other members using our service.

Q: By exchanging, do you mean like music file sharing?

A: Yes. For years, the internet has been used for people to exchange and transfer music and video files with one another. We sought a system that allows the same format but for any type of file including entire courses. Need a course to train your employees on the Family Medical Leave Act? Why re-invent the wheel? With BlueboardIT you can preview existing courses from other users and, with mutual consent, transfer portions or entire courses into your category to edit and customize it to your own needs. All with the few clicks of a mouse and within seconds!

Q: Your exchange feature sounds nice but is it secure? Can anyone preview or exchange courses?

A: Courses are very secure and can only be transferred by the organization's administrator or designee(s). Only those organizations and departments on BlueboardIT can transfer with one another. Our built-in protection blocks against unwanted guests or intrusion into the privacy of our client's training.

Q: What if I want to build my own course, is it easy?

A: Very. Jon Smith, a police commander, wants to train his officers on a new policy. Jon logs into BlueboardIT. Jon clicks "Create a Course" and uploads the policy (word document, pdf, etc). Jon then uses the quiz wizard to create a short 5 questions quiz about the policy. Jon then tells the officers to take the course. The Officers, on their own time or on scheduled duty time, log on to Blueboardit and take the course. Jon then looks at the grade book and ascertains that all the officers passed the course.

Q: What if we have some employees that are not very "computer literate"?

A: BlueboardIT was designed to be simple and user-friendly. The courses are generally arranged in an easy to follow manner with the same features and appearance as most computer systems. If you can navigate through the basics of a word document, e mail, and a web browser, you will have no problems using BlueboardIT. Plus, in the course building process, there are step by step instructions and built-in tutorials to help you understand all of our features and accomplish any task you have.

Q: What is that grade book you spoke of? Can people see other people's scores?

A: A grade book is the system manager that records and organizies the productivity, grades, and completed assignments of all users. It manages not only the courses generated on BlueboardIT, but also can be used to document and record training completed by any vendor or institution. Each user can view their own gradebook to see how well they are doing. Only designated administrators can see all the grades of all users.

Q: Do you have to create a quiz for all courses?

A: No, you don't have to create any Quizzes. Many find it helpful to just ask one question (example: Do you understand the Policy?  Yes or No?). This makes the employee acountable for knowing the policy. However, BlueboardIT has the ability to upload or create a variety of measuring tools to judge a person's comprehension. Including uploading completed reports and forms, completing "off-course" assignments like hands-on training, having a virtual interview online, to even handling advanced mathematical calculations.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: We offer organizations and corporations the oportunity to try BlueboardIT for thirty days absolutely free. Then there is a $30 annual fee per user. We also work with government and private organizations on coordinating billing cycles to appropriate budget times.

Q: How does this price compare to other web-based training sites ?

A: Other comparable systems require the purchase of software (up to $30,000.00) and monthly hosting fees that are relative to the number of courses you run, to the amount of hours you use, or the number of log-ins they record. BlueboardIT offers the convenience of no software downloads and a low cost annual fee. You can train as much as you want, as often as you want for a set price. We guarantee no hidden costs!

Q: How can I join?

A: Use the contact form at the bottom of the home page and E-mail BlueboardIT with your name, organization name, and contact phone number. Someone will get back to you in a short amount of time to answer any questions or get your free trial started within a day.

Q: Does every user have to contact you for a username?

A: No, each organization will name their own administrator(s). The adminsitrator(s) will be given rights and information to upload users and designate their roles. Multiple users are uploaded from a spread sheet. See tutorial for more information.

Q: Before I decide for sure can I see what the courses look like and how they run?

A: Yes. We can come to you! We can offer you a detailed demonstration either in person or via a web-link to show you the power and convenience of our system. Just use the contact form to get started.

Q: Can my company advertise on your website?

A: BlueboardIT seeks reputable companies to advertise on the pages specific to the employment fields. For advertising rates, please contact us.
